Qualifications — User Guide
This extension builds the qualified riders list and the reserve list for a jumping competition in Equipe, then imports them into Equipe in one click.
It can take into account:
- riders qualified from one or two qualification classes (Q1 / Q2);
- FEI pre-qualified riders (Olympic Games, World Championships, World Cup Final…);
- National Champions (horse + rider combination);
- a reserve list.
Before you start
- The qualification classes are set up in Equipe and their results have been entered.
- The destination lists (qualification list and reserve list) exist in Equipe.
- If a qualification class was split into two groups, merge them first (see Split classes).
Only competitions of the current week (Monday to Sunday) are shown.
The screen has three parts: Pre-qualified riders, Qualification setup and Reserves.
1. Pre-qualified riders
FEI pre-qualified riders
The extension keeps the list of riders automatically qualified by the FEI for the Grand Prix at CSI events. This list is shared by all competitions.
Update the list (after each major championship):
- Download the latest PDF from the FEI website (Athletes/Horses automatically qualified for the Grand Prix Competition at CSI Events).
- Click Update from PDF and select the file.
- Riders and their titles are read automatically; a rider listed under several titles appears only once.
The panel shows the date of the last update and the number of riders.
National Champions
A National Champion is pre-qualified with a specific horse. If that horse is not at the show, the champion is not pre-qualified.
Add a champion: fill in the form at the bottom of the panel, then click Add champion.
| Field | What to enter |
| Rider | Name exactly as in Equipe |
| Horse | Name exactly as in Equipe |
| Country | 3-letter code (FRA, BEL…) |
| Year | Year of the championship |
There is one champion per country and per year: adding a new one replaces the previous one. To remove a champion, click × at the end of the line.
Use pre-qualified riders in this competition
- Tick Apply pre-qualified riders to this qualification.
- Under Sources, tick FEI Pre-qualified and/or National Champions.
- For National Champions, tick in the list the champions to include for this show — you don't have to use all of them.
- Choose the Placement:
| Placement | Result |
| Before Q1 (separate slot) | Pre-qualified riders come first, then Q1 takes its full quota, then Q2 completes the list up to the Total riders target |
| Counts in Q1 quota | Pre-qualified riders take places in the Q1 quota |
| Counts in Q2 quota | Pre-qualified riders take places in the Q2 quota |
Example with "Before Q1" and a target of 50: 1 FEI + 15 from Q1 + 34 from Q2 = 50 riders.
2. Qualification setup
Choose the classes
| Field | What to choose |
| Qualification 1 | First qualification class |
| Qualification 2 | Second qualification class (optional) |
| Number of riders | How many riders to take from each class |
| Qualif 1 / Qualif 2 is a grouped list | Tick if the class was merged with Group splitted classes |
| Qualification List | The Equipe list where qualified riders will be imported |
Options
- Return to Qualif 1 if the quota is not reached — if Q2 does not give enough riders, the list is completed with the next riders of Q1.
- Put Riders only in Qualif List — imports the riders without their horses.
Generate and check the list
Click Generate Qualified riders list. For each rider you see the position, horse number, name, ranking, origin, FEI title (if any) and a summary of the result.
| Origin | Meaning |
| FEI PRE-QUALIFIED (purple) | Pre-qualified by the FEI |
| NAT CHAMPION XXX (yellow) | National Champion of country XXX |
| QUALIFICATION 1 (blue) | Qualified from Q1 |
| QUALIFICATION 2 (green) | Qualified from Q2 |
| RETURN TO QUALIFICATION 1 (orange) | Added from Q1 because Q2 was not enough |
"Auto-qualified" in the result column means the rider is pre-qualified and did not need to compete.
Who is taken into account?
- A rider retired or eliminated in the first round is not qualified.
- A rider retired or eliminated in the jump-off only remains qualified, ranked on the first round.
- A rider without a ranking is not taken.
- If the same horse appears twice, only the first entry is kept.
Import into Equipe
Check the list, then click Import Qualified riders to Equipe and confirm the destination list.
An import cannot be undone. Always check the list before importing.
3. Reserves
- Choose the Reserve List (destination in Equipe) and the Number of reserves.
- Click Generate Reserves list to preview.
- Click Import Reserves to Equipe.
Reserves follow the same rules as the qualified riders: riders already qualified are left out, and riders retired or eliminated in the first round are not taken. With Return to Qualif 1, Q1 completes the reserves when Q2 is exhausted.
Split classes
When a qualification class had too many riders and was split into two groups in Equipe:
- Merge the groups with the Group splitted classes extension.
- In Qualification setup, select the merged list and tick Qualif 1 is a grouped list (or Qualif 2).
FAQ
A rider is missing from the qualified list. They were retired or eliminated in the first round, have no ranking, or their horse already appears higher in the list.
An FEI rider is not shown as pre-qualified. The rider is not entered at this show.
A National Champion is not shown. The horse is not at the show, or the rider/horse name does not exactly match Equipe.
Q2 riders are missing. Check that Qualification 2 is selected and its number of riders is set.
The reserve list is incomplete. Q2 has no more riders: tick Return to Qualif 1 to complete from Q1.
