# Horse Check-in Comparison — User Guide

This tool compares the **vet check-in list** (HorseApp Excel export) with the **horses entered in Equipe**, and answers one question:

**Does the vet's arrival list match the show's entry list?**

It shows at a glance:

- horses **examined by the vet but not entered** in Equipe;
- horses **entered in Equipe but not yet examined**.

Horses are matched on their **FEI ID**.

---

## Before you start

- Open the show in Equipe and launch the extension from there.
- Export the check-in list from HorseApp as an **Excel file (.xlsx)**.
- Keep the HorseApp export **as it is**: do not move, add or delete columns, the tool reads them by position.

> If the page has been open for a long time, reload it from Equipe before uploading the file.

---

## 1. Compare

1. Click **Choose file** and select the HorseApp `.xlsx` export.
2. Upload the file.
3. The tool loads the horses entered in Equipe and shows a single comparison table.

---

## 2. Read the table

Each horse appears on one line, coloured according to its situation:

| Colour | Situation | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| **White** | In the vet list **and** in Equipe | Nothing — all good |
| **Red** | Examined by the vet, **not found in Equipe** | Check the horse's FEI ID in both systems, or whether the horse is actually entered |
| **Yellow** | Entered in Equipe, **not in the vet list** | The horse has not been examined yet, or was examined under another FEI ID |

For each horse you see the FEI ID, the name, the date of the examination, the vet who examined it, and the **CSI competitions** it is entered in.

- Only competitions whose name contains **CSI** are listed. A grey cell means the horse has no CSI competition.
- For yellow lines, the examination columns show *Not present in Excel*.

---

## 3. Summary

Below the table, five figures sum up the check:

| Figure | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Total horses in Excel | Horses in the vet list |
| Total horses in Equipe | Horses entered in the show |
| Matching entries | Horses found in both |
| Excel only | Red lines |
| Equipe only | Yellow lines |

On a normal show the last two figures are small. A large difference usually means **FEI IDs entered incorrectly**, not missing horses.

---

## 4. Filter by competition

Type in the **filter** box to show only the horses entered in matching CSI competitions. The filter applies to the competitions column only (not to names or FEI IDs) and ignores upper/lower case.

Examples:

- `W2` — horses entered in week 2 classes
- `CSIYH` — young horse classes
- `CSI3` — three-star classes

**Reset Filter** shows all horses again.

---

## 5. Export to PDF

Click **Export to PDF** to download the table (`horse-comparison.pdf`, A4 landscape). A horse's line is never split across two pages.

- Horses hidden by the filter are **not** included: filter first, then export to get **one vet list per competition**.
- The summary figures are not included in the PDF.

## FAQ

**A horse is red but I know it is entered.**
Its FEI ID is different in HorseApp and in Equipe. Correct it in the wrong system and run the comparison again.

**A horse is yellow but the vet says it was examined.**
It was probably recorded in HorseApp with another FEI ID, or the export was made before its examination. Export again from HorseApp.

**The file is refused.**
Only `.xlsx` files are accepted. Export again from HorseApp without modifying the file.

**The upload fails after the page has been open for a while.**
The session from Equipe has expired. Reopen the extension from Equipe and upload again.

**The PDF does not contain all horses.**
The filter is active: click **Reset Filter**, then export again.
