JumpingAccess — Qualifications Extension

User Guide

Overview

This extension manages the generation and import of qualification lists for jumping competitions in Equipe. It handles:

  • Qualified riders from one or two qualification classes (Q1 / Q2)
  • Reserve rider lists
  • FEI pre-qualified riders (from official FEI PDF)
  • National Champions (horse + rider combination)

Requirements

  • Active Equipe competition with qualification classes set up
  • API key with write access
  • Results available in Equipe for the qualification classes

Interface Overview

The extension is divided into three main sections:

  1. Pre-qualified Riders — FEI and National Champions
  2. Qualification Setup — Q1, Q2, target list, options
  3. Reserves — Reserve rider list generation

Section 1 — Pre-qualified Riders

1.1 FEI Pre-qualified

The extension maintains a local list of FEI automatically pre-qualified riders, sourced from the official FEI PDF (Athletes/Horses automatically qualified for the Grand Prix Competition at CSI Events).

Update the FEI list

  1. Download the latest PDF from the FEI website
  2. Click Update from PDF in the FEI Pre-qualified panel
  3. The extension automatically extracts rider names and their qualification titles (Olympic Games, World Championship, World Cup Final, etc.)
  4. Duplicates across categories are automatically merged

The list shows the import date and the number of riders.

Activate FEI pre-qualification

  1. Check Apply pre-qualified riders to this qualification
  2. Under Sources, check ☑ FEI Pre-qualified
  3. Choose the Placement (see below)
  4. If placement is Before Q1, set the Total riders target (e.g. 50)

1.2 National Champions

National Champions are pre-qualified as a horse + rider combination. If the horse is not present at the event, the combination is not automatically qualified.

Add a National Champion

Fill in the form at the bottom of the National Champions panel:

Field Description
Rider Full name as it appears in Equipe
Horse Horse name as it appears in Equipe
Country 3-letter country code (e.g. FRA, BEL)
Year Championship year

Click Add champion. One champion per country per year is allowed — adding a new one replaces the previous entry for the same country/year.

Select National Champions for a competition

In the Sources section, check ☑ National Champions, then in the National Champions list, check the individual champions you want to include for this specific competition.

Only the checked champions will be applied — you do not have to include all saved champions at every event.

Delete a National Champion

Click the × button on the right of the entry.

1.3 Placement Options

When pre-qualified riders are enabled, choose where they appear in the qualification list:

Option Behaviour
Before Q1 (separate slot) Pre-qualified riders are listed first, then Q1 takes its full quota, then Q2 fills up to the Total target
Counts in Q1 quota Pre-qualified riders count within the Q1 quota — Q1 takes limit1 - nb_prequalified additional riders
Counts in Q2 quota Pre-qualified riders count within the Q2 quota — Q2 takes limit2 - nb_prequalified additional riders

Total riders target (only for Before Q1): the overall cap on the final list. Example: 1 FEI + 15 Q1 + 34 Q2 = 50.

Section 2 — Qualification Setup

2.1 Select Qualification Classes

Field Description
Qualification 1 First qualification class
Qualification 2 Second qualification class (optional)
Number of riders How many riders to take from Q1 / Q2
Qualif 1 is a grouped list Check if the class was split and pre-grouped via the Splitted Class extension
Qualif 2 is a grouped list Same for Q2

2.2 Qualification List (destination)

Select the Qualification List where riders will be imported in Equipe.

2.3 Options

Option Description
Return to Qualif 1 if the quota is not reached If Q2 does not provide enough riders to fill the total quota, the extension falls back to Q1 to complete the list
Put Riders only in Qualif List Imports only the rider (no horse) into the qualification list

2.4 Generate the Qualified Riders List

Click Generate Qualified riders list.

The table shows:

Column Description
# Position in the list
Horse # Horse number (hnr)
Rider Name Full name
Ranking Result ranking in the qualification class
Origin Source of qualification (see badges below)
Title FEI title for pre-qualified riders
Result Preview Summarised result from the qualification class

Origin badges

Badge Meaning
🟣 FEI PRE-QUALIFIED Automatically pre-qualified by FEI rule
🟡 NAT CHAMPION XXX National Champion (horse + rider combination)
🔵 QUALIFICATION 1 Qualified from Q1
🟢 QUALIFICATION 2 Qualified from Q2
🟠 RETURN TO QUALIFICATION 1 Q2 quota not met — completed from Q1

Riders with Auto-qualified as result preview are pre-qualified and did not need to compete.

2.5 Result Filtering Rules

The extension applies the following rules when selecting qualified riders:

  • Riders with RET (retired) or EL (eliminated) in the first round are excluded
  • Riders who retired or were eliminated in a jump-off (e.g. 0-RET, 0-EL) are included and ranked according to their first-round result
  • Riders without a valid ranking (re = 999) are excluded
  • If the same horse number (hnr) appears for two different horse/rider pairs, only the first one is kept

2.6 Import to Equipe

Once the list is generated and reviewed, click Import Qualified riders to Equipe.

A confirmation dialog asks you to confirm the destination list. The import:

  1. Creates empty start entries in the destination list
  2. Patches each entry with the correct horse number (hnr) or rider number (rnr) depending on the Riders only option

Section 3 — Reserves

3.1 Setup

Field Description
Reserve List Destination list in Equipe for reserve riders
Number of reserves How many reserve riders to generate

3.2 Reserve Source

The reserve source is determined by which qualification class riders come from:

  • Q1 source — reserve riders taken from Qualification 1
  • Q2 source — reserve riders taken from Qualification 2

The reserve generation:

  • Excludes all riders already in the qualified list
  • Respects the same RET/EL filtering rules as the main qualification
  • If Return to Qualif 1 is active and Q2 cannot fill the quota, Q1 riders complement the list

3.3 Generate and Import Reserves

Click Generate Reserves list to preview, then Import Reserves to Equipe to import.

Grouped / Split Classes

If a qualification class had more than ~100 riders, Equipe may have split it into two groups. Before using this extension:

  1. Use the Group splitted classes extension to merge the two groups into a single list
  2. In the Qualification Setup, select the merged list and check Qualif 1 is a grouped list (or Qualif 2)

Important Notes

  • The extension only shows competitions from the current week (Monday to Sunday)
  • Each import is permanent — always review the generated list before clicking Import
  • For National Champions, both the rider and the horse must be registered at the event for the pre-qualification to apply
  • The FEI list is stored server-side and shared across all competitions — update it whenever the FEI publishes a new version (typically after major championships)

Troubleshooting

Issue Likely cause
A rider is missing from the qualified list They may have RET/EL in the first round, or their hnr was a duplicate
A FEI rider does not appear as pre-qualified They are not registered at this event (not found in people.json)
A National Champion does not appear The horse is not present at this event, or the horse name does not match exactly
Q2 riders are missing Check that Q2 is selected and the limit is set correctly
The reserve list is incomplete Q2 may be exhausted — enable Return to Qualif 1 to complement from Q1
